Lasagna Bolognese

Lasagna Bolognese Recipe:

Ingredients

  • 12-15 lasagna sheets
  • 500g ground beef
  • 200g ground pork
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 2 carrots, finely diced
  • 2 celery stalks, finely diced
  • 400g crushed tomatoes
  • 200ml red wine
  • 500ml béchamel sauce
  • 150g Parmigiano-Reggiano, grated
  • 200g mozzarella, shredded
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Fresh basil

Instructions

    Heat olive oil in a large pot and sauté onion, carrot, and celery

    Add ground beef and pork, cook until browned

    Pour in red wine and let it reduce

    Add crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper

    Simmer Bolognese sauce for 2 hours, stirring occasionally

    Prepare béchamel sauce separately

    Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)

    Spread a layer of Bolognese in a baking dish

    Layer lasagna sheets, Bolognese, béchamel, and cheeses

    Repeat layers, finishing with béchamel and cheese on top

    Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes

    Remove foil and bake 15 more minutes until golden

    Let rest 10 minutes before slicing and serving
